changes to the blog

hi all

after three days, i have changed everything!

• i have added a google search thingie, so now you can find stuff directly from the site
• i have added some google advertisements - maybe i will earn enough to pay my phone bill :-)
• i have added the application links (the main reason anyone has come here!) to the right hand side so they are always shown.
